2/7/2023 0 Comments Episode 223 - Today
Pastor, in this episode I share my overwhelm in life right now. I don't whine or complain, or prate on and on about how "busy" I am - but I try to be honest for long enough to share with you what my hope is through it all.
God gives us opportunities to serve, busy or not. Overcommitted or not. And we get to do it, with people. And we never do it yesterday, or tomorrow, or next week, or next year. But only today. Always today. Because today matters.

Here are two more lessons I learned when I contemplated my experience giving blood.
If you've never given blood, call the Red Cross, the Blood Bank, LifeServe Blood Center, or your local hospital to get information on where you can go to give blood. It's a beautiful thing. I enjoyed recording this episode just for you pastor! Enjoy.
I gave blood! I hate doing it, but I love having done it. I know it's a good thing to do, so that's why I do it. To help others.
I thought of several ministry lessons I learned from giving blood - and I share them with you today and tomorrow, on shorty episodes that I had a lot of fun recording! Enjoy - and... Loving your people, making connections, and building relational bridges - these are all things that help us minister to our people! Enjoy!
If you are a new pastor, or a young pastor, you may be "leading" people in your church who are 2-4 times older than you! They are wiser, more experienced, wealthier, and have significantly more substantial jobs than you.
But if you will take to heart these eight pieces of advice, if you'll engage and employ them in your life and ministry, you'll likely have much more influence and success in leading older people! I have eight for you, but the first four are today, and the final four will be tomorrow... 1/30/2023 0 Comments Episode 218 - Four Common Myths New Pastors Shouldn’t Believe, But Sometimes Do...

Today I have a recommendation for you! You do not want to miss it. Engage in it this weekend at some point, and GET BETTER because of it.
Here's my unusual recommendation, and my usual affirmations! :-)
I was browsing through Colossians chapter 1 and had to pause and share these thoughts with you, my pastor friends!
Sometimes I can get caught up in the things I have to DO, and I always need to redirect myself back to PEOPLE. I have to be in proximity to people, and work hard to present everyone fully mature in Christ. Thanks for listening to this episode and letting me chat with you about what God was impressing on me...
Healthy staff teams take work, whether they are paid or volunteer staff. One is not easier than the other - just because you pay them doesn't mean your relationship with them will be automatically healthy and productive. Just because they're volunteers doesn't mean it will be easier or harder to manage the interaction.
Just like a marriage, or a healthy and fit body, staff relationships take work. Today I share with you five practices that will move you toward better staff health. Staff health contributes to church health. A healthy, productive, fun, and challenging church staff, volunteer or paid, is a privilege and pleasure to serve with! Today's coaching will help! |
