If you are a new pastor, or a young pastor, you may be "leading" people in your church who are 2-4 times older than you! They are wiser, more experienced, wealthier, and have significantly more substantial jobs than you.
But if you will take to heart these eight pieces of advice, if you'll engage and employ them in your life and ministry, you'll likely have much more influence and success in leading older people!
I have eight for you, but the first four are today, and the final four will be tomorrow...

I was browsing through Colossians chapter 1 and had to pause and share these thoughts with you, my pastor friends!
Sometimes I can get caught up in the things I have to DO, and I always need to redirect myself back to PEOPLE. I have to be in proximity to people, and work hard to present everyone fully mature in Christ.
Thanks for listening to this episode and letting me chat with you about what God was impressing on me...
Healthy staff teams take work, whether they are paid or volunteer staff. One is not easier than the other - just because you pay them doesn't mean your relationship with them will be automatically healthy and productive. Just because they're volunteers doesn't mean it will be easier or harder to manage the interaction.
Just like a marriage, or a healthy and fit body, staff relationships take work. Today I share with you five practices that will move you toward better staff health. Staff health contributes to church health.
A healthy, productive, fun, and challenging church staff, volunteer or paid, is a privilege and pleasure to serve with! Today's coaching will help!

Todd Rhoades has been in the "Connecting Staff to Churches" business since the dawn of the New Millennium, the year 2000! He recently spent 10 years on the team at the Leadership Network, and almost four years ago co-founded ChemistryStaffing.com with Matt Steen.
Todd has been neck deep in ministry practice, theory, and leadership for a long time. I've seen him on websites and emails for years and have FINALLY had the opportunity to sit down with him for an hour-long conversation, which I share with you today on Weekend Edition 37! Enjoy!
If you are sensing God's call to a new ministry, or if you need to call a new staff member and need help in the search, contact Todd or Matt at Chemistry Staffing!
You get up early, you stay up late, you go to bed with unfinished work on your mind and to-do list, and it's an unusually busy and stressful week. You have a funeral or two, a message to finish, people to visit with, staff to plan with, a day trip and some meetings, a grandkid's birthday party, a board meeting, baptisms to prepare for, appointments to keep track of, lunch meetings, perhaps course work, a part time job, you want to work out, rest, spend time with your spouse, etc.
What do YOU do when you're facing a very busy, stressful, somewhat overwhelming week of life and ministry? Here are six things I do naturally, and then six more that I WISH I did naturally, and try to do intentionally.
