The short title of this episode is: Making Progress Through Overwhelm! Sometimes we just need 2.5 yards per down to keep the ball moving down the field. That's hard for "all or nothing" people to do - they go for the "Hail Mary" pass trying to score in one play.
You make progress even when you're overwhelmed by doing the small things, the few things, sometimes the one thing - that just gets the ball moving, and then keeps it moving until it reaches the end zone. Jeff gives you just a couple coaching tips to get moving forward even then you're overwhelmed...

Some good ministry coaching on a mindset for a balanced view of life and ministry.
Jeff talks about the things that cause stress in a pastor's life. Things like allowing your day to just happen to you, and entertaining the concept that your unlimited workload is never done.
He offers some suggestions for minimizing and mitigating the stress from these obvious life realities. This week is all about identifying the things that stress a pastor, and learning how to deal with them in a helpful way.
Let's face it, there's no way we can avoid stress in ministry... or LIFE for that matter! So I think it would be good for us to plan on it, and plan for it.

Today I'm open with you, and make a confession, then introduce the topic! Enjoy! 8/20/2022 0 Comments Weekend Edition 20 - Wrestling with the Intractable Challenges of Ministry with Thom Rainer
