Jeff talks about the distinction between devotions and message prep. In the past he did not draw a huge distinction, and in fact encouraged combining them - but today he takes a little different direction. Enjoy!

7/9/2022 0 Comments Weekend Edition 14 - A Rare Glimpse Into One Pastor's Inner World with Lee Eclov
Lee is a Pastor to pastors. Retired after more than 40 years of ministry, he is uncharacteristically open and transparent about his ministry years, his strengths and weaknesses, his victories and mistakes.
You will find yourself realizing... "I'm not alone, or unusual! Lee has struggles just like I have." You can connect with Lee personally at LeeEclov.com, where you can find all things Lee! This was a pleasure to record and to edit - to listen again to wisdom from years of ministry, and reflect on my own ministry journey in light of Lee's stories. There you go my friend, just another great resource and support for you at LeeEclov.com - and, you're welcome! :-)
As we end this week's topic of PRIORITIES, Jeff thinks out loud about "How we prioritize the wise input of others into our lives?" Do we tap into the wisdom and knowledge of others, or are we the only ones filling our own tanks?
If we don't access the wisdom and understanding of others, the reservoir of our knowledge is going to dry up rather quickly! We must make it a priority to receive from others, and to put ourselves in a position where we can receive wisdom, knowledge, information, inspiration, and insight from them. Jeff unpacks all these thoughts and questions... enjoy! 7/7/2022 0 Comments July 07th, 2022
Today Jeff talks about prioritizing investments - not financial investments, but investing in other people. We can accomplish many tasks, build buildings and products, and grow organizations, but it will be our investments in people that will ultimately be our legacy.
In episode 100 Jeff talks personally about the investments that he and his Dad made in each other, and a little about how that all ended. Today, long after his Dad is gone, the investments he made in Jeff are still paying off. Who are YOU investing in these days?
Time is a non-renewable asset. Like sand through the hourglass, the time of our lives slips inexorably away, never to be seen again. The minute we waste we never get back.
We live in an inordinately time-conscious society - so how can we think about time, wisely, without stressing out over it? Jeff thinks out loud with you about time - do you really want to listen though? After all, it's 8 minutes you'll never get back! :-)
We've all heard it before... if I don't prioritize my life, everyone else will do it for me - according to their own priorities. But alas it is true! And it will happen EVERY time.
Today Jeff talks about priorities as a pastor, and summertime is a good time to reconsider our schedule, priorities, and disciplines,. This week is all about priorities - family, church, ministry, relationships, causes, hobbies, education, rest, etc. Enjoy!
In this episode I share a memory of the first time I got ONE of these! I'd never had one before, and I was thrilled to get it. I've since gotten hundreds of them, but you never forget your first one!
Commitment #5 that Dave Bush talks to us about is Expand Your Perspective. We can never cease to learn and grow, and development ourselves as people, pastors, and leaders. If we are to ever live an extraordinary life, we have to keep pedaling, stop coasting, and remain consistent in expanding our perspectives! Enjoy!
In this episode, Dave made the following statement, that I thought was the MONEY line:
"Fear has killed a lot more dreams than failure ever will." So true! Fear keeps us from failure, so that's good right? Yeah, except that fear also keeps us from... you guessed it... success! Failing forward, as I describe, is failing, then assessing the failure, learning from it, adjusting for the future, and not giving up! Dave has another take on failure that I'll let him share with you... Enjoy!
Dave Bush joins me to talk about the hard choices we all have to make to move our lives our of "ordinary" and into extraordinary! In this episode he uses nutrition as an example, but we will have to make hard choices in every area of our lives if we truly want to live extraordinary lives!
Enjoy! This is for YOU. |
