On this weekend's Weekend Edition I've invited not only Dan Reiland but also my longtime podcast partner, Jonny Craig! So it's a Double-Header today! Dan talks to us about his new devotional book for pastors and church leaders titled: Leadership Alone Isn't Enough - 40 Devotions to Strengthen Your Soul. He also tells us why this is a very unique and one-of-a-kind devotional book designed especially for leaders in ministry.
You can get his book here! Also, if you are one of the first two to tweet @coaching4pastors with the hashtag #iwantdansbook we have two to give away. You can catch Dan at DanReiland.com and all of the 200churches Podcast episodes where he appears RIGHT HERE.

Sometimes life doesn't always go as planned. I've always told my kids, "when you fail, get up, and try, try again!" I had to practice exactly what I've preached to them over the years. I am praying that my story will encourage you to not lose hope, to not give up.
If you've failed in an area of your life or ministry - get up! Straighten your clothes and fix your hair (if you have any left worth fixing) and try, try again. You are worth it, God deserves it, and your people need it. I think it was Zig Ziglar who said, I never fail, I only learn. I either win or I learn. I've been learning a lot these days...
What is your mission as a church, and, are you moving in the direction of your mission? Churches left to themselves will drift toward that inevitable inward focus. They will ask "what is good for us, for OUR church?" They will forget about the lost in their community and around the world.
So what is your church's mission Pastor? And are you leading them in a hot pursuit of it? Jeff references Rob's episode from this past Saturday where he described leadership to be like "pushing a boulder up hill." Jeff encourages you in this short episode to not give up, and to keep your shoulder against your mission boulder!
On Wednesdays Jeff coaches pastors on the topic of family. Today he redirects us toward thinking about our kids. Sometimes the roll of ministry gets our focus diverted from our family just a tiny, teeny bit - and if that's you today, Jeff communicates an idea that maybe, just maybe your kids might need a little bit more of your attention. Even though his kids are married adults, he said he still needs to give them attention, time, conversation, etc. Enjoy today's challenge!
My daughter had just graduated from college with a BS in Nursing Degree. I believed it was time for me to return - for an M.Div. Was I crazy? Or, was this something I should do? Was it a worthy investment of my time, energy, and finances?
What I finally decided would completely change my life!
My back was against the wall. It was the worst day of my life. We got the call no parent wants to get - our son had been in a terrible automobile accident and was on life support. In this episode I talk about what I learned about prayer in the most painful crucible of my life.
